Play about a Play
My final piece from my studies at Iceland University of the Arts was a play within a play, showcased at the final exhibition Rafall / Dynamo at the Reykjavík Art Museum in May 2023. The play explores my journey of uncertainty about what to create for my final project, ultimately deciding to stage a production about the process of creating a play itself.
We rehearsed every Tuesday for one month, where I presented the actors Arna Eir Eydal, Fannar Arnarsson, and Örn Gauti Jóhannsson with a new script every week. The stage design replicated my studio. Theater assistant Bjartur Örn Bachmann supported the production. The performance, lasting 45 minutes, was both a culmination of my studies and an exploration of theatrical creation.
